PFAS Remedial Technology Engineering Center (RiTE Center)
PFAS@Mines Initiative
About
The RiTE Center is a collaborative hub housed within the Colorado School of Mines, dedicated to advancing PFAS treatment technologies toward commercialization. The Center brings together scientists, engineers, industry experts, and government partners to evaluate and improve technologies for detecting and removing PFAS contamination in water and soil. Established in May 2026, the RiTE Center aims to identify solutions that are ready for broad deployment while highlighting those requiring further development. It will also disseminate its findings through accessible, web-based platforms to support informed decision-making among stakeholders and the public.
The Center’s overarching goal is to make PFAS remediation more effective, cost-efficient, and scalable across diverse environments. By establishing clear performance benchmarks, the RiTE Center will provide government agencies and other stakeholders with greater confidence in selecting appropriate solutions. Ultimately, this initiative is expected to accelerate technological innovation, strengthen environmental protection efforts, and offer a structured pathway for bringing promising PFAS treatment technologies to market.

PFAS Remediation Technology Development
If your organization is developing technologies for PFAS detection, separation, or destruction, we invite you to connect with us by completing the Google Form. A primary objective of the RiTE Center is to develop a comprehensive inventory of technologies used in PFAS remediation. This inventory will include solutions at all stages of development, from early research to market-ready applications.
In the future, we will request additional information from technology developers to support evaluation efforts and help advance promising approaches. By completing the form, you will be added to our contact list and may receive updates and communications from the RiTE Center.
